About Maggie Kimmitt
Maryland native Maggie Kimmitt has been passionate about Thoroughbred racing since early childhood. Her keen interest was cultivated and encouraged by her father, the late Francis X. "Bud" Kimmitt, himself a lifetime afficionado of the sport who happily shared his enthusiasm and interest with his youngest child.
Maggie has photographed some of the country's premier stakes races. Her work has been published by Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred and TRAINER magazines, the Daily Racing Form, The Saratoga Special and Steeplechase Times and has been exhibited at the National Museum of Racing in Saratoga Springs, New York. Additionally, Maggie writes a monthly column called "Pensioners on Parade" for Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred magazine which chronicles the second careers and retirements of former racehorses.
